What do you think of my Halloween costume? Aunt Bethie and Aunt Kathy dressed me up and took me to see my cousins Keara and Aidan in their school’s Halloween Parade. It was lots of fun! I can’t wait until Halloween so I can go trick or treating with Mommy and Daddy!

Mommy and Daddy took me to see new pictures of my baby brother. I guess he is kinda cute. Mommy said that I was kinda shy when I got my pictures taken. My brother must like showing off, because he posed for a lot of pictures! I can’t wait to meet him!

Annalise has been working on this for a while, and she finally did it! She took a step by herself on Saturday, October 21st (2 days shy of her 9 month birthday). Both Pat and I were sitting on the playroom floor when she took a step to get from me to him. We’re so proud of her!

Whew, what a busy week! I’ve lost track of the time we’ve spent in corn mazes, the Morton Arboretum and picking apples…but I think Mommy’s caught a cold from all this farm air! Aunt Kathy took some photos our our trip to Kuiper’s Farm…and there’s some pictures of “Aunt” Lisa and Ali on our trips to the Morton Arboretum and Jonamac Orchard…

Last weekend we went to Columbus, Ohio for Christmas! I know, that’s what I said….who ever heard of Christmas in October? In any case, as this was my very first “Christmas,” I wasn’t about to complain. It all started when Mommy and Daddy took me on another plane ride to visit my Aunt Amy and Uncle Chris and my cousins Zack and Addie – whom I met for the first time. Grandma and Grandpa were there with the rest of Daddy’s side of the family. I got my very own cell phone and car keys! They’re fun, but for some reason, I still prefer Mommys’. Zack and Addie’s new house is very nice and I had a great time crawling around with my cousin Samantha…but I didn’t get much sleep and by the end of weekend I was totally wiped out. The best part is I heard Mommy and Daddy say something about the next Christmas being in December in Naperville. If they have Christmas in Columbus in October and Naperville in December, where can we go to have Christmas in November? Maybe South Bend, Indianna?

Finally! Annalise is getting some teeth! They started breaking through this past weekend and she already has three of them. Mommy has to let Annalise chew on her fingers at her own risk. She is also cruising along with the whole crawling thing. Daddy is busy working on the “play room” so Annalise can roam free. She has also been taking some steps (holding on to Mommy or Daddy’s hands) and today she pulled herself to standing (as she was trying to crawl on Mommy). What a big girl!

Annalise is growing up so fast! She went for her 6 month doctor’s appointment and she is in the 90th percentile for her height and weight. She wants to get around anyway she can. First she would roll across the floor to get the toy she wanted. Then she learned the “combat crawl” where she would pull herself across the room with her arms, dragging her legs behind her. She has now learned that her legs can do some of the work too! The other day I was finally able to capture her crawling on video! We’re convinced she is an aspiring singer (taking after Daddy). She has definitely found her voice and tries to “sing” (OK, squeal is more like it) along with the piano on her exersaucer. It sounds great to me!

We had a great time celebrating the 4th of July at the cabin with Gramma and Grampa Jaromin and all of the Laubenstein cousins. Everyone was so surprised when they saw the double stroller we bought for Daddy! (I see that Annalise has already written a blog about our big news.)
Annalise sure enjoyed visiting with Gramma and Grampa. They went swimming, out for walks and to the park.

I’ve known for quite a while and it’s been sooooo hard to keep it a secret…(actually, I’ve been telling everyone I see, they just didn’t seem to understand what I was saying!). At first, on Mother’s Day morning, when Mommy started crying, I thought I had done something to make her sad. But she said it was a “happy cry” and that I would have a little sister or brother just in time for my 1st birthday!
