The day after my birthday party, Suzy and I left for 4 days in Las Vegas. Except for the part where they tried to sell us a time share (oh, wait…I mean “vacation ownership”), it was a fun, relaxing trip. We gambled (and lost) a whopping $3 in a “Mega millions” slot machine and walked along the strip in the 116 degree “dry heat”. A definite highlight of the trip was our Hummer tour of the Hoover Dam and the evening we spent listening to the “one man band” in the bar at the Golden Nugget. Niiiice! Thanks for watching the kids, Mom and Dad!

On June 29th my lovely wife surprised me with a party for my 40th birthday. It was a terrific surprise and I had a great time! Thanks, dear!

We’ve decided that maintaining separate blogs for each child was simply not going to scale. So now we’re consolidating. All of the previous post from the original sites have been imported. We hope you like our new home!

Annalise is definitely not a baby anymore. She graduated to a “big girl bed” today after boycotting her crib for the past 2 weeks! She goes around singing ABC’s and can count to 13 consistently. She is such a good big sister to Sean.

I can’t believe that Sean is one already. He is getting so big! He weighed in at 25lbs 12oz at his 1 year doctor’s appointment. That’s just a little over 3lbs less than his sister. He finally let go and started walking (more that just a step or two) the day before his 1st birthday. He is talking up a storm and loves to do whatever Annalise is doing.

Annalise is getting to be such a big girl now! She weighed in at 29lbs at her 2 year doctor’s appointment. She better watch out, Sean is catching up to her quick! She definitely knows exactly what she wants (“Mama’s turn” or “Daddy’s turn” when it’s time to get out of the car seat, high chair, etc) and she’s not afraid to tell you. She is getting so smart too. She can count to 10 and is recognizing letters in her alphabet puzzles. She just amazes us every day with what she knows.

Sean’s first Christmas was fun for all. First we flew out to Buffalo on the 21st to celebrate Christmas early with Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins (Daddy’s side of the family). Sean had fun playing with everyone. We made it back home (barely) and celebrated Christmas in Naperville with more aunts, uncles, and cousins (Mommy’s side of the family). After months of cruising along furniture, walls, Mommy and Daddy’s legs, etc, Sean finally took some independent steps on Christmas morning at the Harveys. YEAH!!! Good job Sean! It was a long day, and Sean crashed early (around 6pm) but we all had a great time.

Annalise definitely “gets” the idea of Christmas now. She recognizes Santa and says (or whispers) “Ho, Ho, Ho”. She had a great time when we went to Buffalo on the 21st to celebrate Christmas early with Daddy’s side of the family. She loved playing with and chasing all of her cousins. I don’t know if Grandma and Grandpa’s house will be the same! We made it back home (despite plane delays and lots of turbulence) to celebrate Christmas in Naperville with Mommy’s side of the family. Annalise’s eyes grew wide and all she could say was “WOW” when she came downstairs Christmas morning and saw the gingerbread house Daddy decorated and all of the presents Santa left. Annalise and Sean love playing with all of the toys that they received from family, friends and Santa. Everyone was so generous.

I had a great time this weekend, visiting with my Grandma and Grandpa. They took Annalise and I for walks every day, and we played all the time! Here I am practicing my sippy cup with Grandma. I can’t wait to see them again. What’s this “Christmas” thing they keep talking about? It sounds like fun.
